J&K Bank employees contribute Rs 4.10 Cr to CM's Relief Fund for flood victims in UT

Exhibiting compassion and solidarity in times of distress, the employees of J&K Bank have contributed Rs 4.10 Cr towards the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to support the victims of the recent floods that caused widespread destruction across Jammu & Kashmir, particularly damaging major parts of Jammu region.

 

Today, MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee handed over the cheque to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in presence of Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Principal Secretary (Finance) Santosh D Vaidya, Bank's Executive Director Sudhir Gupta and CGM Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, here at civil secretariat. General Managers Rakesh Koul and Rakesh Magotra, DGM Tanveer Hussain and other officers of the Bank were also present on the occasion.

 

Appreciating the gesture, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed gratitude to the Bank's employees for their generosity and support in strengthening Government's efforts to deliver timely relief and assistance to those in need.

 

Earlier, while presenting the cheque to the Chief Minister, MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee reiterated the Bank's unwavering commitment to the people of J&K.

 

MD & CEO said, "As an institution deeply rooted in this region, the Bank has always drawn its strength from the people. At a time when so many families are facing hardships due to the floods and the aftermath, it is only natural for us as a family to stand shoulder to shoulder with them. This contribution reflects the compassion of our employees and our commitment to support the rehabilitation process."

 

Pertinently, employees of the Bank have already contributed relief materials worth Rs 1 Crore that were distributed, last month, among the flood-affected people in different parts of Jammu.
